No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

I'm spitting fire.  Utterly disgusted at how my husband was treated at the Home Depot on 123st/Biscayne Blvd in Miami.  My husband works in the construction business and he spends in average about $50,000/year in material at Home Depot.  Yesterday afternoon, he spent close to $2000.00 on materials for a job he's doing.  The cashier forgot to ring up some small items that were hidden underneath the bigger ones.  As my husband got to his truck and started loading the merchandise, he noticed they forgot to ring the smaller items.  He, then, returned with those items ($78.00 worth) inside the store to pay for them.  He was, immediately, stopped by the guy who works theft prevention and was told that he couldn't pay for the items anymore, "Once you leave the store with unpaid items, it's considered theft."  The theft prevention guy, then, called the manager on duty, Javier Perez, who, then, called the police.

To shorten this mess, the Police Officer from North Miami was baffled that Mr. Perez, the Assistant Manager, wanted to press charges when the video clearly showed my husband returning to the store with the unpaid items.  What thief comes back in to pay for the items the cashier forgot to ring up?  My husband was "arrested".  He signed a promise to appear and will go to court.  Now, he carries a misdemeanor record, when he's innocent.  Thank you, Mr. Javier Perez and Home Depot.  Rest assured that we will take this to civil court and you will be hearing from our attorney very soon!

Fucking ridiculous!!!

Lowe's, it will be nice doing business with you all.
